About us

Sample Clearance Services is the brainchild of Saranne Reid, a media and entertainment lawyer who has worked both in house (at labels and publishing companies) and at several leading music law firms. Her wealth of experience has led to her being called on as an expert witness in copyright trials, a speaker at industry panels including In The City, Miami Winter Music Conference, London Calling, The Great Escape and Midem and she is frequently invited to guest lecture on the music copyright element of various university law programmes. The company was born out of the sampling explosion in dance music in the late ‘90s and has grown to establish itself as the first port of call for major brands and music companies looking for efficient music clearance.

Saranne Tardelli-Reid has worked extensively throughout the music industry for over 15 years in all areas of licensing and business affairs, and is the leading authority on sample clearance matters in the UK.

YSANNE

Music Licensing & Supervision

Ysanne brings with her a decade of experience in the music industry, from independent record labels Skint and Champion through to heading up our synch, music supervision and compilation licensing projects. She recently oversaw the sync licensing for the Swedish House Mafia film Leave the World Behind, along with projects for McDonald’s (I’m Lovin It Live) and Youtube (YouTube Live on Stage).

Fire behind the decks and a music research whizz kid, is there anything he can’t do? Box leads the charge in supporting the team across the departments and has managed not to make a cup of tea since he’s been with us.

A junior creative who also has multiple radio one plays under his belt for his own musical projects, our social media and design-oriented assistant Scooter keeps the wheels turning at base camp.
